Deploying a general-purpose directory
infrastructure is a key IT technology initiative. This could
include enterprise directory services, meta-directory
services, and other capabilities such as PKI.
The goal of an enterprise directory service is to meet the
needs of consumer applications. The only metric for success
is utility. Unlike directories designed to meet the needs of
a single application, such as a white pages or an email
directory, enterprise directories are designed to meet both
the immediate needs of a multitude of existing applications
as well as the future needs of future applications and
services.
As a result enterprise directories require a greater focus
on the processes for migrating data from systems of record
and providing that data to other services, systems, and
application directories.
When implementing directory services, the policy/process and
technologies should be considered in a broader identity and
access management context.
We at Identserv understand the needs of an enterprise and
bring in best of breed implementation process and procedures
